আগামী ২-৩ ফেব্রুয়ারী দেশব্যাপী "জাতীয় নিরাপদ খাদ্য দিবস ২০১৮" উদযাপিত হবে। খাদ্য নিরাপদ রাখার ৫ চাবিকাঠি - পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্নতা বজায় রাখা, কাঁচা ও রান্না খাদ্য পৃথক রাখা, ৭০ ডিগ্রী সে. এর বেশি তাপমাত্রায় রান্না করা, রান্না করা খাবার ৫ ডিগ্রী সে. এর নীচের তাপমাত্রায় সংরক্ষণ করা এবং নিরাপদ খাদ্যোপকরণ ও পানি ব্যবহার করা। উৎকৃষ্ট পদ্ধতিতে খাদ্য উৎপাদন করুন, উৎকৃষ্ট প্রক্রিয়ায় খাদ্য প্রস্তুত করুন ও নিরাপদ খাদ্য বিক্রয় করুন। জীবন ও স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষায় নিরাপদ খাদ্য - অনিরাপদ খাদ্যকে না বলুন। ভেজাল ও মেয়াদোত্তীর্ণ খাদ্যদ্রব্য ক্রয়-বিক্রয় করবেন না এবং ছোঁয়াচে ব্যাধিতে আক্তান্ত ব্যক্তি দ্বারা খাদ্যদ্রব্য প্রস্তুত, পরিবেশন বা বিক্রয় করবেন না। মানবদেহের জন্য ক্ষতিকর রাসায়নিক দ্রব্য যেমন, ক্যালসিয়াম কার্বাইড, ফরমালিন, ডিডিটি ও পিসিবি মিশ্রিত খাদ্যদ্রব্য বা খাদ্যোপকরণ মজুদ, বিপণন বা বিক্রয় করবেন না।

Mohammad Mahfuzul Hoque

Mohammad Mahfuzul Hoque, Additional Secretary to the govt. of Bangladesh joined in Civil Service on 21 January 1986 (1984 Batch). He did his Masters and B.A (Hons.) in Economics from the University of Chittagong. He joined as Chairman of Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) on 25 th September, 2016.

He served in different position under the Directorate of Food, Ministry of Food, Primary and Mass Education Ministry, Ministry of Science and Technology. He participated in different Training programme in home and abroad. He has visited Thailand, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Sweden, USA, India, Turkey, Kazakhstan and S. Korea.

Members 

Majeda Begum  

Ms. Majeda Begum, a leading food scientist of the county, completed her BSc (Hons.) and MSc. degree with Biochemistry from the University of Dhaka in 1974 and 1975 respectively. She started her career with Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) as Research Fellow. Successively she held the positions of Scientific Officer, Director of Institute of Food Sciency and Technology and finally the Member of the BCSIR. Ms. Majeda Begum has 34 scientific papers published in various national and international journals. She has 14 scientific processes for industrial use and 4 patents on food technology to her credit. She innovated Iodine Testing Solution to detect the presence of iodine in salt as well as to estimate the quantity of iodine by Paper Strip Iodine Kit which is being used in many parts of the world. She also developed two separate Formalin Detection Kits to detect the presence in fish and milk. She was awarded Dr. Qudrat-i-Khuda Award, 2004-2007 for her contributions to the nation. She established Food Safety Laboratory at BCSIR to carry out research and to support food processors for production of safe and quality food. She joined the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority in February 2015.

 

Monzur Morshed Ahmed

Mr. Monzur Morshed Ahmed, B.Sc. (Hons), M.Sc. (JU), MFTech.(Ghent, Belgium) has started his scientific career with Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) as a Scientific Officer in the year 1996. He gradually served in different positions including Principal Scientific Officer & Head of Industrial Microbiology Laboratory of Institute of Food Science and Technology, Project Director for PMFMD project & Research Coordinator. He also served as National Project Coordinator (NPC) of National Biosafety Framework (NBF) project under Ministry of Environment and Forests and National Expert (Microbiology) at UNIDO-BEST-BFQ project with Department of Fisheries, Government of Bangladesh. He is a pioneer Lead Assessor (ISO/IEC 17025) of Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) and national Biosafety Core Committee (BCC) member for Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) related decision making in the country. In 22 years of career as professional scientist, Mr. Ahmed has got his expertise in food microbiology & food Safety especially, Microbiological Hazards Identification, Microbiological Risk Assessment (MRA), analytical method development and validation, laboratory accreditation, Science &Technology policy research and so on.

Mr. Ahmed has published more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles on national & international journals related to food microbiology, biotechnology and food safety. He has supervised 50 plus B.Sc. and M.Sc. students for their research thesis. He visited a number of countries around the world for attending scientific seminars, conferences, training-workshops and presented his research works. He joined in Bangladesh Food Safety Authority on September, 2017 as Member (Public Health & Nutrition).

Md. Moinul Haque

Mr.Md. Moinul Haque is a member of the Bangladesh Civil Service and belongs to the Administration Cadre. He completed his LL.B (Hons) and LL.M from the University of Dhaka in 1981 and 1982 respectively and then joined the civil service in 1983. He served at various levels of district administration starting from Upazila Magistrate to Deputy Commissioner. He also served the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority as a Member and the Ministry of Land as Joint Secretary. However, he has long experience of working in the Ministry of Food and Directorate of Food as Joint Secretary and Additional Director General respectively since 2010. All these helped him developing an expertise in area of food security with specific relevance to food laws and its enforcement. Having all these notable experiences Government appointed him as a Member of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority in July 2015.

Professor Dr. Md. Iqbal Rouf Mamun

Dr. Md. Iqbal Rouf Mamun, is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Secured his position as a Lecturer of the University of Dhaka in 2000 he was elevated to the position of Professor in 2013. Prof. Mamun has vast research experience both in 'Natural Product Chemistry' and ‘Chemical Contaminants in Food & Environment'. He has carried out widespread research activities in Bangladesh,Sweden, Thailand and South Korea in diverse fields. He pursued his PhD degree in 1999 from the University of Dhaka with financial support from International Science Program (ISP), Sweden and did Post-Doctoral research in Chonnam National University, Republic of Korea on “Method development for analysis of chemical contaminants in food and environmental samples”. Having credits of 45 scientific papers published in national and international journals he is a member of Reviewer’s Panel of several reputed international journals related to food and environment. He has attended more than 50 scientific seminars &conferences and presented his research works there.  He joined the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority in February 2015 as a Member.
